Oh my God, I want Kate Beaton's babies so.much.

I've decided my cure for writer's block is sleeping a lot and holing myself up in the bathtub with lots and lots of Neil Gaiman.

Well... it's not so much a cure as it is a distraction.

I've also decided that there are fewer things I like writing less than opening chapters. Well, I'm sure there are all kinds of things I'd like writing less... essays on Puritan literature for example, but still... this is very tricky.

Uneventful Fourth of July. Went to granddad's for a picnic. The children were loud, as usual. Connor was flamboyant, as usual. I was left with a headache, as usual. The kids were just so bratty today. I came so close to calling Connor a miserable little scrotum, you have no idea.

I drew anuffer purty picture :3 I was hesitant to do Gael's portrait thingy, since usually, for some reason, I am terrible at drawing him. I think it might be because spending a lot of time on pics of him bums me out. Anyway, I did it and I ♥ it. Drawing him still did bum me out though D:

I didn't dislodge the clot, as it turns out. My gums are healing really well. But I did have a really bad fever last night and, as a result I think, had some seriously weird dreams.

Dream #1- I was idly rubbing at my feet and big schluffs of skin came off. Like dry husks of skin. I was literally molting. Like a snake. What the fuck was that about?

Dream #2- LolMaraudersdreamLOL! Something about a park and ice cream. Lulz were had. There was this ice cream stand with different flavors, all of which represented an HP character (though the Marauders didn't get that, of course). There was Luna ice cream, which was very tasty. Hee, Lily sat down next to Snapeadoodle with Severus flavored ice cream (which looked a lot like mint chocolate chip) and he was being the big, smelly weirdo he always is and then somebody gave Lily "Silver Stag" which was a really delicious cookies'n'cream and Snape got all jealous. Of ice cream. It was amusing. I was very disappointed that the dream ended before I got to see the Remus or Sirius flavors. I would've liked to have some. Speaking of which...

Dream #3- I don't often have intense sex dreams. I really don't have that many sex dreams at all. My pent up virgin frustrations usually find other ways to make themselves known. But, er, I certainly had one. A very good, somewhat rough one. That's not what weirded me out. What weirded me out was who I was having sex with. Let me just say this... it was with one of my characters (which makes the whole thing sort of sad)..... but not one I'd ever want to have sex with in real life. Good looking, but, just, NO. I think a couple of you can figure out who I mean through process of elimination (considering how many of my characters I would shag). Blah. What the hell? I'm totally going to blame my fever. I was clearly delirious. Also, I should probably stop listening to the Savage Love podcast as I fall asleep.

...er.... anyway, happy Fourth of July.

Did another character portrait this morning. I did Rebecca. I don't think this one is as good as the Adge one, but I have a fever and memories of spooky sex dreams floating around in my head.

Other than that, I've been polishing up a few chapters to precisely how I want them. I've also been quasi schooling myself in the publishing industry and how best to find an agent that's actually trustworthy. Good times. Heh. All the really good agents work in New York (naturally). The only one I found working out of Detroit specialized in Christian literature LOL

I'm feeling a little grouchy tonight. Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to go see Prieskorn (who is definitely retiring. Noooo D: )
and get further contact information in case I ever need her for recs and things. Though, I suppose I could always use Schulte or Blake since they're pretty good on computers. Prieskorn leaving makes me very sad.

Dad's all nervous about work because his boss is a grade A cunt and dad thinks his unit might be getting folded up. He's been job searching like mad out west (last job he looked at was in New Mexico). Problem is a lot of dealerships out west (especially in California) want youth. Dad, however brilliant a salesman, is pushing 50. And while you don't have to put your age on your resume, you do have to put schooling and experience and they can do the math. So that's depressing him pretty badly, I think.

I'm still muddled about uni. I could start fall OR winter term at Washtenaw. Or I could wait and begin Spring term at State. Or, apprently, I could be living in New Mexico, in which case ....I'd be screwed, heh.

Christ, I'm depressed today. *cries* and I have a weird rash on my face!

B'aww. Alan, you make me so sad. I think this was originally going to be a CinderAlan thing.... but...er... hedgehogs are cute? Hee, they have similar hair. Plus, how awesome would it be to have a hedgehog find it's way into your room? More fun than dormice.

I don't think I'm going to give Alan animal companions of any kind... since I am 100% sure they would meet gruesome, horrific deaths at Noah's hands. I wish that were an exaggeration. : /

These days I try to avoid the MTV Movie Awards. the show tonight wasn't too bad though... except for Zac fucking Efron >:(
